So I've lived here for almost four years now, and have yet to check out any of the cheesy haunted houses/events around town.
Anyone have recommendations as to which ones are the best?
Thanks,
Jess

Re: Cheesy Halloween Events
Fri, October 15, 2004 - 10:52 PMI've been out to Verizon a couple times and it's not too bad. It's usually alittle busy so you have to go early so that you can goto everything. I still haven't had a chance to make it to the haunted hay ride there... -

Mon, October 18, 2004 - 8:45 PMYeah, I heard about that. My boss gets free tickets and is on the board, so I should see if it's going to be infiltrated by kiddies. -

Haunted hayrides
The Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Fifth Annual Haunts of Hidden River.
The event has been moved to Arbuckle Acres Park, just north of downtown Brownsburg on Ind. 267 (Green Street).
Here is some general information:
• Times: The Haunts of Hidden River will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 22-23, 29-30 and from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24.
• Hardly haunted: Each night from 6 to 6:30 p.m., there will be unscary hayrides through the scare stations.
• Parking: Limited parking inside the park.
• Costs: Hayride tickets cost $5 per person. For $10, participants may purchase "fast track" tickets that let them avoid waiting in line. A limited number of these tickets are available for specific departure times. For more information, call the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce at (317) 852-7885 or visit the Chamber's Web site at www.Brownsburg.com.
• Entertainment: A representative from Radio Disney (WRDZ-FM, 98.3) will be at the Haunts of Hidden River on Oct. 23, and Peewinkles marionette puppets will perform Oct. 30 near the Lions Club concession building and bonfire area, where the hayride line forms.
• Food: Different specials will be offered each evening. -

Wed, October 20, 2004 - 7:08 PMI saw the sign for that at the park this morning on my drive into work! May have to check that one out. I'd be lazy not to, especially since it's so close. -

Thu, October 21, 2004 - 5:46 AMLike I said, aslong as they put as much work and creativity in this year as they have the last few years, it should be a fun ride...

Re: Cheesy Halloween Events
Wed, October 20, 2004 - 6:22 AMit used to be a haunted hay ride off of a tree farm on the south-west side of town. It was pretty good, long and well done. I beleive it's geared for the younger crowd but it still was a good and well planned scare. I don't know what this one in Arbuckle is going to be like... -

Wed, October 20, 2004 - 8:36 AMAccording to the Star article, they always knew that it would be moved from the tree farm...
It's the same the thing, just different location.
